So, my office flooded... AGAIN.

Photobucket

Note: this was taken before it got really bad.  Use that as your frame of reference.  It was too chaotic to get a picture after this point.

This happened last year around April when we got a big rain. It rained all morning, but we didn't think much of it. Then a coworker spotted a tiny little damp spot on the carpet. Then we saw the newly sprung RIVER flowing out of another corner. My side of our department is apparently downhill because it all started towards me. Pretty much the entire marketing department showed up to start moving boxes out of the various storage rooms.

Maintenance is trying to dry it out with some giant machine. It's my opinion that after having been flooded twice we might deserve some new carpet squares. AND A NEW FOUNDATION.

I like how this only happens in our department, in a recently renovated part of the building. I'm told it smells lovely. Sometimes not having a sense of smell is a blessing.

I'm currently in a spare storage room/department because half of my office is underwater. I'm connected to the network via the VPN which apparently doesn't have the webfilter on it so HUZZAH!

I'll further sooth myself by looking at Kimura's face:

AHHH. Nice. I hope to have a Million Stars Falling From the Sky picspam of episodes 2&3 put together shortly.

ETA:  Looks like there is another HUGE cell headed towards us.  Awesome.

That's one insane puddle! :O We had quite a downpour but nothing like that happened here. They'd probably shit a brick if it did considering they just spent a bundle on new carpet for half the building.

Yah for no webfilters! ;D Now, do all your devious web surfing while you can!

...I like your brand of "therapeutic treatment," btw. :D~~~~

I feel it is a good sign that they pulled up a bunch of carpet squares in the main area. Maybe we'll get new stuff! That'll be awesome.

AH HA HA I am without a babysitter and will therefor spend all of my time doing useless things on the internet BECAUSE I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL.

This filtering thing still pisses me off. If someone isn't going to work, it doesn't matter if they can get Facebook or not. They'll find some way to not do their work.

Not too bad on the eyes, right?

Guh floods are not fun. I hope every thing's fixed soon.

I hate webfilters! My school had pretty much every thing blocked and it really didn't help any because kids found some other way to get on youtube and facebook. But yay you can use filterless internet and have fun for a couple days :)

Is it just me or does Kimura Takuya look a bit like Lee Min-ho? I think it might be the eyes and the smile/smirk...

HE DOES. I think [livejournal.com profile] darkeyedwolf was the first person to point that out. I also think he looks a little bit like Yamapi in the general mouth area. They both do the same sort of thing with their jaw. Plus, they both have screwed up lower teeth (until Pi got that bridge).

Ugh I hope you don't get sick from it being so wet over at work! D:

Me too! I made it through the situation fine last year, but I can't help but be paranoid. There has to be mold growing SOMEWHERE.

Gross. Your office maintenance never fixed the problem the first time?

Nope! But apparently while I was gone at training camp this morning they came in with some sort of fancy seeing-through walls camera and tracked the problem to a certain point. There is talk of hacking up the entire office area... I have no idea where our department will GO if that is the case.

...maybe you should bring an inflatable raft to work--that's I-N-S-A-N-E!! No way is that good for the carpet, or foundation as you said!

So, where exactly do they stick you when this stuff happens? Well, hooray on no web-filter, but the mold? blah!!

I'm just in one of the spare offices in our area. It's across the meeting space in the middle, so I can actually still see my office. I'll probably move back there on Monday once it's totally dry (at least on the surface).

Apparently a roof drain broke right under our office so they might be ripping out the floor this weekend. I'll get to work in a mini canyon!
