Oh, I didn't prime the top of the table. Just the sides, legs, and chairs. I know my mom has put stain over polyurethane before, but I don't think you could get away with that for primer.

So is the glaze not a stain? Does it behave more like paint? I'm always interested in new technology.

Oh, I've used that combo stain/poly before. It worked really well on my coffee table. I'd use it all the time, but the color selection is kind of limited. At least where I normally go: Lowe's & Home Depot.
