this post is about poop.

While putting together that picspam for [livejournal.com profile] drama_hunt yesterday I ended up going through all of the caps I had initially taken of Vineyard Man (I want to make a mood theme at some point). I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up rewatching parts of the series this weekend during any down time (minus the first two episodes, which are pretty boring. they have some good points but it only really gets good when she gets to the vineyard). There are just so many funny scenes on this show, I thought I would share one with you. It has to be on my journal because the topic doesn't really match any of the tags on [livejournal.com profile] drama_hunt.

Now you find out how cultured I am...

One of the first antagonists to enter the story when Ji Hyun moves to the vineyard is her eternal nemesis: the outdoor toilet. This is her first reaction to the facilities on site.

As a result of this traumatic experience, and her inability to eat anything off of the dirty plates her great-uncle serves meals on, she can't seem to do her regularly scheduled business.

Photobucket

Taek Gi, like the rest of us, doesn't understand what her problem is. Just go already!

Photobucket

But being the princess she is, Ji Hyun just can't get it done. And now her body won't let her even if she wanted.

She's obviously in pretty bad pain at this point so Taek Gi, who is still less than thrilled that she is even AT his vineyard (we're still at episode 4 here), decides to help her.

He will take her to the one flushable toilet in the village!

It of course belongs to the family of the young girl who is convinced Ji Hyun is trying to steal Taek Gi from her (not they are actually IN a relationship or anything). Ji Hyun is too excited about the idea of a real bathroom to be bothered by any venom in the air.

Photobucket

Too bad the brother doesn't stop talking to her the entire time she is making her effort.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even though she's in a nice clean bathroom, Ji Hyun can't cope with the man on the other side of the door talking to her about using the bathroom and other random things.

NO LUCK!

Ji Hyun gives up finally and gets in the truck to go back to the vineyard.

Suddenly Taek Gi has an idea and pulls the car over.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ji Hyun is in too much pain at this point to really care about anything.

Photobucket

The answer to her problem? Grape vinegar! This reminded me of a random article I read years ago about home remedies. Apparently apple cider vinegar is the solution to every problem EVER from dirty laundry to your health. Remember that, it could come in handy.

Photobucket

Ji Hyun is less than thrilled at the idea of drinking vinegar, but tries it anyway.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Taek Gi doesn't understand why it doesn't move things along.

Photobucket

But wait! SUCCESS!

Photobucket

Photobucket

In the middle of nowhere, with no access to any bathroom, Ji Hyun is forced to make a run for it into a field.

Taek Gi wonders aloud at the length of her roadside break. It's been building for a few days, give the girl a break.

Photobucket

MORE SPECTATORS!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Ji Hyun is mortified, but also too relieved to really care.

Oh Manseok isn't the prettiest man, but he is handsome in his own way. The haircut they gave him for this role is just SO AWFUL you'd never guess it.

I think you can guess how well this is going to end.

AH HA HA. And that is the end of Ji Hyun's super expensive sweats.

Taek Gi continues to harrass her the entire way home about her stinky pants.

Aw, nothing says blossoming love like some poopy sweatpants.

... Hope I didn't gross anyone out too much. XD

LOVED the first two new episodes of Torchwood. The kids really creeped me out, but it's easy to make kids creepy to me (Like "The Empty Child"? FREAKED ME OUT) and Gwen didn't even annoy me that much. Yay!

ETA: Also, a lightning bug attacked me in the shower this morning. I didn't have my glasses on so all I saw was a giant fuzzy black blob flying menacingly over the curtain towards my face. Unappreciated!

So, I guess I am easily frightened of fireflies and children.

LOL!! XD That is priceless! As you know, I've always admired Asian cultures for their openness concerning bodily functions. I don’t know why we get so uncomfortable over here about it. I can't think of one dramatic show that would include something so...blunt! Instead, characters don't eat the food they order (which greatly bothers me) & that is supposed to explain why they don't ever take a crap. Male peeing is acceptable, of course, because it's a great place for conversations or actions scenes in a narrative. >:|

Two things I particularly love about Asian dramas: 1.) They eat a lot & 2.) They acknowledge even the nastiest aspects of our humanity without being crude. Another culture that appreciates food eating: the British. Can I even get through Pride & Prejudice without my stomach rumbling? I think not! I love all their family meals; they all look so delicious.

MOAR Picspams! :3

As much as I enjoyed Gilmore Girls, the food thing was an aspect that drove me absolutely insane about that show. Lorelai and Rory always made all this noise about all the crap they ate, and you'd often see them at the store grabbing candy and all sorts of other junk. BUT THEY NEVER ATE IT. It made me crazy.

ARG!! That makes me raaaaaage! We tend to notice and point out quite vocally that sort of stuff a lot when we watch movies/shows. This is the scenario I hate the most: 1.) The person arrives at a restaurant/cafe/bar. 2.) They order something, be it coffee, wine, a delcious plate of pasta, a delicate and ornate piece of pie. 3.) It is delievered to them superfast. 4.) They hold it, and talk with the other party. 5.) They end the scene by getting up to leave, walking away from the food/drink/etc. untouched, and just slap some money on the table (or ignore paying at all!)

I..hate....that...so...much! I love watching Asians eating in dramas; I love it when they stuff their faces and drink liberally. It makes me feel hungry but also good.

That scene was so funny (the whole drama is, really). I always figured - if he can like you after that, you know he's a keeper!!

I'm hoping you keep up the VM picspams - I want to see Taek Gi the panty thief!

[identity profile] cranberrysheep.livejournal.com 2009-07-08 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It definitely breaks the ice in the relationship!

LOL, panty thief. I like how he apologized to the dress when he disposed of it. Get rid of the evidence!

I couldn't believe he risked burning it - I thought he should have dropped it in the outhouse - no one would ever hunt for it there!

I'm loving your Vineyard Man picspams! I loved that all this time she couldn't go cos the outhouse grossed her out and in the end she ends up doing her business out in a field and ruining her sweats lol

please do more VM picspams please please please

That'll teach her to buy nice things!

I'm really enjoying doing them and as long as other people get a kick out of them I will!
