The Vineyard Man 3: Time to Get to Work!

Back to The Vineyard Man goodness! RECAP TIME - Episode three. We left off with Ji Hyun being terrorized by a pig in the middle of the night and Taek Gi finally recognizing her:

Taek Gi thinks it's pretty hilarious that the girl who got him arrested as a rapist is now stuck in a pigpen. Ji Hyun is less than thrilled, as you might imagine.

She quickly recovers though and decides that since she stands to inherit the vineyard he better be nice since she's the boss.

After having to get up WAY EARLIER than she would have liked, Ji Hyun is informed she'll be working in the vineyard. With Taek Gi

Don't be so down in the mouth guys, it's going to be awesome!
Ji Hyun takes forever to get ready, because she's a city girl. When she finally exits her room, Taek Gi can't help but look at her incredulously. She mistakes this for falling in love with her, because she's completely unaware that high heels probably aren't the best choice of footwear.

Cue dream sequence! The grapes are shiny and the vines grow money~. Ji Hyun is in for an unpleasant suprise.

GET TO WORK! Taek Gi tries to show her how to tend to the vineyard. They are removing grapes that crowd the bunch. Ji Hyun stinks at it, and ends up just destroying grapes in her carelessness, but Taek Gi really isn't the best teacher as his tolerance for her is basically zero.

Time for some wacky misunderstandings! Ji Hyun's hair gets caught in the vines and Taek Gi has to help. The other workers witness this, of course.

Finally, Ji Hyun is left alone and is as productive as anyone could have expected.

I could seriously watch the following sequence over and over again. YEH is HILARIOUS.

Finally deciding that work really isn't her thing, Ji Hyun sits down to weave a hat out of the grapevines. Taek Gi is horrified at this destruction of expensive property and doesn't want to hear Ji Hyun's never ending complaints. At least he finally gets her to wear some real work clothes and boots.

When Ji Hyun returns she finds that everyone has sat down for lunch without her, which she finds very rude. But, she's too hungry to complain about it. All the ahjummas go hilariously out of their way to keep Ji Hyun from eating either by insisting she wouldn't like it or interrupting her at the worst times with their thoughts on whether she and Taek Gi would make a good couple.

Then Ji Hyun finds a bug in the food which completely spoils her appetite anyway.

There is also a quick fantasy in their (that last cap) about Taek Gi being super creepy in the vineyard clad in a dark robe defending his grapes. It's cheesy and hilarious.
Work is finally done for the day, and Ji Hyun falls asleep on the tractor ride back to the house. This results in her falling off and rolling down a hill into a pond. Taek Gi rescues her, but her fancy shoes fall victim to the watery depths. She bemoans her situation the rest of the way back.

The whining continues straight into dinner, where she is so distraught over her shoes that she doesn't notice Taek Gi eating EVERYTHING before it is too late.

Later that evening, Ji Hyun decides it's time for a shower. The entire area is exposed (she demanded that Taek Gi build her an enclosed one, which I don't think is that much to ask for since she is a girl) so she's very nervous about it and turns off the overhead light. Taek Gi chooses that moment to return from a late night swim and spooks her.

Turns out he was actually being a pretty thoughtful guy and retrieved her lost shoe from the pond. AWWW.

Ji Hyun is overjoyed, while Taek Gi remains pretty chill about the whole situation. She says 'thank you' and tells him to go home, wondering why he is at her house so late. Turns out that he lives in a spare room in the complex. Horrified, Ji Hyun insists that he leave, but that's not going to happen. He lives there, so he's not going anywhere.

Taek Gi goes to bed, and Ji Hyun can only sit around with her sore muscles and concerns.

When she finally falls asleep, she dreams about Taek Gi expressing his passionate love for her and demanding to be let into her room.

Girl has some crazy dreams...

TIME TO WORK!

Today, Ji Hyun will be weeding an old, reglected piece of land. She actually expresses some joy and being successful at her job, but when Taek Gi leans over her to show her to be more careful, their innocent actions are again witnessed. This time by Hong Yi, the village girl who fancies herself Taek Gi's girlfriend.

Ji Hyun is completely confused at the anger (and hatchet-wielding warnings) displayed by the girl.

Taek Gi is like - Calm down, what the hell?
Hatchet Girl now gone, Ji Hyun gets down to some serious business but wears out soon after.

Deciding the best way to get out of work is to feign faint, Ji Hyun collapses. It's ill-timed though, as that is when everyone else decides to eat.

Everyone is pretty worried about her, but Taek Gi knows she's a big faker. So, he just makes a show of enjoying his meal.
Then, there is a random fire (!) so everyone goes rushing off. This allows Ji Hyun to grab a piece of meat, which is too hot to eat quickly and also attracts the attention of a nearby puppy.

Probably feeling super gross at this point, Ji Hyun decides to shower under the sprinklers of the vineyard. Complete with shampoo. Taek Gi catches her and completely rips her a new one for getting soap and water on the grapes. The water is now off and Ji Hyun has soap in her eyes. It's not been a good couple of days.

That night, Ji Hyun spots a giant bug in her room and enlists Taek Gi's help. He can't find it, so there is no way she is going back into her room. He agrees to switch for the evening. Ji Hyun snoops around his room a little before spying some icy hot patches and applying them. Hatchet Girl barges in at this point, demanding to know what the hell Ji Hyun is doing in her oppa's room. Chaos ensues for a short while - a hair pulling cat fight that I couldn't cap. Then Ji Hyun ends up back in her room.

The next morning, Ji Hyun refuses to get up saying that her body simply won't allow it. Worried for a moment that she might actually be serious, he grabs some sort of medication out of his room. It's a rollerball contraption that applies ointment - I have no idea. Ji Hyun grabs it with gusto and starts putting it on everywhere. Realizing she wasn't as sore as she claimed, Taek Gi decides to play a little trick.

He tells her to apply it directly below her eyelids for it to work most effectively on her entire body.

Ji Hyun is dubious, but tries it anyway. There is a slow beat, and then the screaming starts. I'm guessing it stings like a bitch.

Taek Gi congratulates himself at first before realizing that maybe Ji Hyun's in quite a bit of pain. She does yell 'MY EYEBALLS ARE MELTING", so, I'm guessing YES.

She refuses any help from him, and rightfully so I say. She's spoiled and lazy, but he has been kind of a jerk.

Enough is enough. Ji Hyun decides the millions of dollars just aren't worth it and packs her bags to leave.

Until next time dear readers...
