Also, I have some tiny picspams for you today:

I watched Cyrano Dating Agency and it was not exactly what I thought it was going to be. Just based on the synopsis and promo posters I thought it was going to be a light-hearted romantic comedy, but instead it was kind of a downer. I'll explain more after the cut:

For something that marketed itself as a romcom, there were few laughs to be had. I chuckled a bit at the team dressing their client up like Uhm Tae-woong's character since he had dated LMJ's character in the past. But I think that was it? I mean, throughout the entire movie we got to see flashbacks of UTW and LMJ meeting, clashing at first, but eventually falling in love. And then we get to see their relationship fall apart. So, that was a bummer. And I pretty much went in expecting they'd end up together, because there was all this talk about trust and how important it is. But then she ended up with Daniel Choi's character after going on like two dates just because he said he loved her?

The whole movie looked like it was shot through a sepia filter or something, which combined with the mellow pacing of the script and acting of the cast it was all very sleepy. It was as though it was constantly dawn or dusk and no one was quite awake.

So, I didn't like it. But, there were good things: Lee Min-jung is so freaking pretty and I think she's just a peach. ALSO, it turns out I don't have to avoid Park Shin-hye at all costs, because she isn't actually Go Mi Nam (You're Beautiful). So that's a relief.

Finally finished the last three episodes of Leverage. Good fun as always. Parker and Hardison are the best (Pretzels!). Though, as much as I love Eliot (and his hair), it can get a little tiresome when it becomes the Eliot Show. For example: THIS ENTIRE SCENE WAS RIDICULOUS.

In case you couldn't tell, that's Eliot sliding across a warehouse floor underneath a barrage of bullets courtesy of eight+ baddies. LOL, WHAT. Even for Eliot, that was... something else.

Oh, and I randomly watched Off The Map and I never need to do that again. Between the veteran doctors' holier-than-though behavior and the team nearly letting a guy bleed out on the operating table so he could propose to his girlfriend, I don't need to go back.

re: Leverage - but was his hair fantastic in the scene?! 'Cause by looking at the cap, it looks like it. XD I need to see this in action, hahah.

Aw, I actually liked Cyrano Agency? I thought it was super hilarious in the first half, with all the over-the-top fake romantic scenarios and the lengths they would go to to make them happen, and then pretty realistic and sad in the second half, at least between Lee Min-jung and Uhm Tae-woong. I never thought they would get back together because I think there are certain types of Korean rom-coms that love being bittersweet and tragic like that (hence the dawn/dusk look?), and my suspicion was confirmed during the scene where Daniel Choi says it'd be too obvious if Cyrano got Roxanne and UTW says, "Yeah, it would be too obvious, wouldn't it?" I was like, FATE SEALED, you are never getting her back. But I totes agree, they were following some kind of Kdrama time-logic with her agreeing to marry Daniel Choi after something like two dates.

THIS MOVIE WAS SO SUPER PRETTY, HOOOW? I don't care, I loved the sleepy mellow coloring of this movie. THE LIGHTING, I wanted to live in it.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH, PARK SHIN-HYE WAS MY FAVORITE PART AND MY BIGGEST REASON FOR WATCHING IT.

Lmao that scene was so bad and ridiculous. I laughed for forever. It was just too unbelievable even for Leverage.

Off the Map is SO HORRIBLE OMG. Idk how this or The Cape got picked up and still haven't been cancelled.
