Finished Joseon X-Files and I think everybody should just go ahead and watch it. It was a great mix of drama, humor, and creepiness. Plus, I don't think there has ever been another drama that I've loved just looking at so much. It's strange that for a show that dealt with such strange topics, I'll mostly remember how great I thought the camera work and lighting was. The director did a wonderful job of creating atmosphere through both. For a show about aliens and other phenomena it just felt real to me from the locations to costumes to characters. it was more like watching a movie than a drama.

Having said that, I have some thoughts on the finale...Spoooooilers )

Watched the first two episodes of My Princess and I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it. I had no intention of watching it at all, honestly. I just wasn't interested for whatever reason, even though on paper it's totally my thing, but I'm so glad I changed my mind! It's pure fun. I'd only seen Kim Tae-hee in IRIS before, and while I liked her there, I love her in this role. She's too precious. I'd never seen Song Seung-heon in anything before, though I'd heard plenty about his "acting." And while there is no denying those abs, his face just never did anything for me. And while I think Kim Tae-hee is totally the heart and soul of this operation, I love when they are silly together. Cuteness. Serious cuteness, people.

In other news: my cats chewed on my power adapter cord and killed it. Now I get to go buy a new one. Joy. I wish they'd just go ahead and get shocked so they'd learn their lesson. Of course, they're probably too stupid to remember what happened. Any ideas on how to make power cords less appealing?
On the news this morning they interviewed a little girl whose cat had four ears. FOUR EARS.

Note: That's not the same cat I saw. But when I googled "four eared cat" there are about a billion pictures of this guy. The one of the news was a big old Maine Coon looking feline

Now, I've heard of, and seen, cats with extra toes. It's awesome because their paws are super huge. I've never come across this phenomenon before. The lady on the news says that the majority of the cats with this trait die before they are born, which is sad. But if they do live, it doesn't seem to bother them, or their hearing in the least.

I made soup last night (zuchini, celery, spinach, bok choy, broccoli, black beans, and chicken) and while it may not look that pretty it's very tasty. I of course, managed to destroy the inside of my mouth when I tried to eat it before it cooled properly. This, of course, made me think of Jim Gaffigan's comedy routine about Hot Pockets and how you'll be tasting rubber for a week.

Caliente Pockets~
I took a week long vacation last week and given my lack of monetary funds, that meant keeping it simple and going home to visit family. I was also SUPER productive. I refinished the armoire that's been sitting in my parents garage for several months now. It's still sitting there, but it's ready to come back to my place whenever they come over (my car is too small to take it all in one trip).

But first, a video of our cat, Jack, and his love affair with my shoes.

Now on to the Armoire Project Picspam! )

I finished Atashinchi no Danshi this weekend, it was all pretty adorable. Not an outstanding series by any stretch, but definitely enjoyable. I'll probably finish Who Are You? next... especially since there was no new True Blood this week! FROWNY FACE.

REGROWTH!

Not everything I touch turns to dust. For example, take the bush massacre that occurred in my lawn a few weeks ago. I cut those suckers BACK. And they may still die, but for now they are making a strong bid to live. Here is the photographic evidence:

Those little leaves are a million times prettier than the gnarled mess they used to be. Another picture plus CAT behind the cut )
I am SO SORE right now. Crouching and bending and reaching and painting all weekend left me bone-tired. I slept the sleep of the dead last night, which was fantastic until my freaking alarm went off.

It was all worth it though, because my front two rooms look amazing. There is still a little cleanup to do, so not final photos today. I do have some progress shots for everyone )

My other (unplanned) weekend project was shaving my cat )

HA HA XDDDD I'm the worst mother in the world!

I also finally started Avatar and LOVE IT. Plus, I can watch the first season free on Netflix so I don't have to download it. My computer HD is hurting. I really need a DVD burner.

I said I would document my first solo journey into the world of home decor projects, and here it is:
