Note: I started working on this before I realized that my list was missing "Day 7" for some bizarre reason. But I'd already finished this post, so it's going to have to be out of order.

HOW EXCITED AM I FOR MAD MEN TO COME BACK ON THE 25TH?! VERY.


I don't care what anyone says, I love Betty

Mad Men enters it's fourth season at the end of the month and I could not be more thrilled. I honestly think it is one of the best shows to ever grace the airwaves.

That being said, it's not for everyone. It's smart and stylish, but it can also be hella depressing. It basically a show about awful people who have awful things happen to them. Pretty much everyone is miserable, both to themselves and each other. But it's just so engaging.

Mad Men takes place at an ad agency in 1960's New York, so obviously it is very white male oriented. But it takes place against the backdrop of huge cultural changes in the country. The tapestry of this show is so intricately woven that when you go back to watch episodes you recognize all of these little nuances you completely missed on the first go-through.

The set designs and wardrobe are just fantastic, I would watch it to just look at the visuals.

Anyway, I think everyone should at least give it a shot. And if you don't like it, GTFO.

I am very excited for s4! And ITA about it being white/male. I feel like the show knows it, and writes about it, and sometimes they don't succeed and sometimes they do.

I like Betty. I don't think I hate any of the characters, but I could be forgetting some.

I completely agree. I'm wondering if things are going to get shaken up more with the creation of Sterling Cooper Draper & Pryce.

Betty gets a lot of hate on ONTD. Yeah, she's an immature bitch, but that's pretty much what I like about her. It annoys me that she is so reviled but everyone is in love with Pete Campbell. Now, I love to hate Pete, but he's a total weasel.

I just started watching Mad Med (am in the middle of season 1) and I'm totally in love. It's lame that it took me so long to get on the bandwagon, but I made the mistake of listening to a male friend who said, "It's just a pretty show with little substance." :P

Sure, it's a slow-moving show, but I don't know how anyone can say it lacks substance :(

All that matters is that you're watching it now! The first season is by far the best, but it's still really good throughout.

Well, it's probably a random unfounded criticism to show of some guy's pretentious taste... But actually, get this, I followed up with him and was like, "Mad Men is AWESOME. Why don't you like it?" And he was like, "I think the misogyny is too exaggerated and unrealistic."

......Okaaay. :P
