Now that Momma knows about In Jae and Mi Rae's FORBIDDEN LOVE, she's formulating a plan to kill that relationship. First she calls up Seung Woo and offers him a job at Face Story. Next up is Na Ra.

BECAUSE SHE IS SO OLD, DID YOU FORGET?!
Not knowing that his mother's plot is now in motion, In Jae goes to see if she can get Na Ra a job. He's totally got Na Ra on the brain, even if he won't admit it.

YEAH I BET YOU HAVE, perv.
Just then they are interrupted by In Jae's BFF, Seung Woo.

...
LOL.
Surprise of surprises, In Jae is not delighted beyond reason that Seung Woo is going to be working at Face Story.

Nor is he especially excited that Na Ra has been offered a managerial position at his branch. Na Ra is still pondering taking the job, because it is going to be hella awkward. Her sister thinks she is being a moron.

In Jae calls Na Ra to go out to dinner.

She's happy to hear from him until she finds out why he wanted to meet with her - which was to tell her to turn down the job.

And it's deja vu all over again...

Yeah, you are a jerk.
That little incident solidified Na Ra's decision to take the job. Which, good for her, because she is smart and deserves to be successful. But I don't approve of the decision to put herself in this position again. It can't be healthy.
Mi Rae has no idea what is awaiting her in the conference room.

HA.
Mi Rae bitches about it, but Momma isn't having any of it.

So, she turns her venom on Na Ra.
They yell at each other about being underhanded bitches. We've heard this argument a millions times at this point. Mi Rae tells her to give up, Na Ra declines and brings up past indecresions. Repeat.

What really matters happens after this confrontation.

UH OH. Stomach pains! Whatever could it be??!!!
Mi Rae consults her desktop calendar...

AH HA HA HA HA. BABY TIME.
Na Ra makes her triumphant return to Face Story and is greeted warmly by her former coworkers/new underlings.

OH COME ON.

Better be nice now, girls. There is a new sheriff in town. An old, decrepit, 30-year-old sheriff, but a sheriff nonetheless.
Plot Device Kid comes by for a visit and asked Na Ra what it is like to be a boss. Mi Rae, of course, overhears and must correct Na Ra that she reports to HER. Wow, that fetus has really raised the level of bitch in the room.

This has got to be a fun office to work at:

Anyway, new storyline time. Face Story is accepting product pitches from all branch managers and Na Ra is going to give it a try.

Mi Rae is supportive.

No, that wasn't her response, but how cool would that have been?! Na Ra brushes off Mi Rae's negativity and the conversation turns to her lack of pigment, but Mi Rae doesn't want to talk about it.

In Jae sees her tearing up and pulls her aside.

Mi Rae has gotten really comfortable with the scheming and lying in recent days.

More lovey-dovey time in Mi Rae's apartment.

Oh, but trouble is in the air. You see, when Mi Rae demands a kiss...

... In Jae CAN'T because he pictures his BROTHER. I should also note, since I haven't so far, that In Jae blames himself for his brother's death. After their engagement party, In Jae got wasted and told his brother that he was in love with Mi Rae. The next day his brother died in a drunken car crash. So, he's not just feeling strange about being in a relationship with his dead brother's fiancee, he's also strapped with the guilt of having killed this woman's former love.
Annoyed that her romance isn't proceeding the way she would wish, Mi Rae arranges for Na Ra and Seung Woo to meet at a restaurant (they both thought they were meeting her).

Since it is convenient to him now, Seung Woo supports Na Ra's decision to work at Face Story and tells her to keep going after In Jae.

Na Ra is less than impressed with Seung Woo and leaves to return to the office and an all-night report writing session.
In Jae comes in with mucho beers in hand (I'm guessing the brother thing has him a bit on edge).

In Jae fails to mention that he was with Mi Rae and maybe gets a quick whiff of "Shady Happenings" when he hears about what Mi Rae pulled. We can only hope.
Anyway, he plops himself down anyway and has a beer with Na Ra. Because even though he won't admit it, he seeks her out EVERY SINGLE TIME he needs emotional support. It's really not fair to her, and though she makes noises about the way he treats her she never actually sends him away.

Somewhere else in Korea, Mi Rae is mocking Seung Woo, who is less than impressed with her childish schemes. Not that he is above games, since he accepted the job to be near her.

He also informs her that In Jae's mom knows all about her relationship with her former fiance's little brother. The next morning, Mi Rae sees the beers cans and obviously knows what went down the night before. She's going to be in SUCH and awesome mood today.

Na Ra wants to know why the hell Mi Rae didn't show up when she said she would the day before. And because she is severely lacking in self-confidence, Mi Rae serves up a little bit of snark in Na Ra's direction.

Boy doesn't have a response. He's not quick enough to be a player.
Still, they go out for drinks/food/whatever together anyway because they both can't stop.

In Jae tries to lighten the mood, but Na Ra is having none of it.

And I'd give her more credit for calling him on his bullshit, except she NEVER DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT. She complains that he uses her as an emotional crutch but she keeps letting him.
In Jae returns to his apartment and a distressed Mi Rae is waiting for him.

He handles that about as well as anything that has happened so far:

Drinking for emotional reasons is NEVER A GOOD IDEA.
Especially in this case, because...

Hmm, what's this?
Mi Rae hears her doorbell ring and smiles.

OMG. You guys don't know how long I've waited to get to this ep JUST FOR THAT SCENE. LOL, I love it because it's so stupid and trashy. I mean really, what the hell. Don't like your real baby daddy? Just drive the man you actually love into a drunken coma so you can saddle him with EVEN MORE GUILT AND FEELINGS OF RESPONSIBILITY.
This is a very healthy relationship.

Date: 2009-03-16 05:59 pm (UTC)God, Mi Rae is a fucking hobag!!!!! I wonder how they're going to resolve this can of worms? Jeez, all the "accidental deaths or siblings leading to retarded guilt on the part of a remaining sibling who ALSO happen to be in love with their siblings fiance" is a huge Korean drama-type. XD
MOAR!!!

Date: 2009-03-16 06:04 pm (UTC)LOL. I think there was a pregnancy strip, I just didn't cap it. Fear not though, there is vomiting. Or at least dry heaving.
God, Mi Rae is a fucking hobag!!!!!
I know I am supposed to hate her, and I do for the most part because of the games she is playing. But I also feel sorry for her because she is finally with the man she loves and all these factors are against her. For all the mean stuff she does I actually found her kind of sympathetic, which is at odds with my desire for In Jae/Na Ra. I wish they had just made her truly EVIL because it would have been a lot more fun.

Date: 2009-03-16 06:24 pm (UTC)Good to know they did it properly!! For shame if they had messed up that simple of a trope!!
Oooh, I hate when they add this level of niceness to the "evil" character. It's more true to life than the actual plot so it makes you rage a bit. Jealousy and rage do make you do some sad/mean things to otherwise nice people; who asked them right realism!? Yes, just make the character evilbitchhobag and let us hate her!

Date: 2009-03-16 06:27 pm (UTC)I wish they had either made her truly nice or super evil. Where she ends up instead is the no man's land of boring. But it is enough to make you worry about the end game, because this is Korea and they could totally screw you over.

As others have said . . . MOAR!!!
